Buruanga Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Launch
The province of Buruanga, Aklan, Philippines has launched its updated mandate on anti-smoking and vaping last March 14, 2025 pushed by their local government unit and in partnership with ASH Philippines and Vital Strategies. There was a festival parade of boat designs about the campaign created by fisher folks, and placard making contest participated by grade school and high school students. After a quick program about the mandate, locals such as students, teachers, parents, and municipal employees walked from the covered court where the program was held to the sea where they watched the boats sail mightily, and watched the lively "Palayok" dance. They also awaited for the awarding of the winners of the boat design contest and the placard making contest. The event was capped by fireworks.
